WA recently released SmartBoard OCX, a visual schedule board (also known as a Gantt chart) which can integrate with any ERP/MRP Manufacturing system. SmartBoard is an integral part of our product, SmartSched, an advanced finite scheduling module for Manufacturing ERP/MRP Systems, and it is shipping now. Many users of ERP/MRP systems can now add precise finite scheduling, which will load all operations down to as much as one-second resolution. Greater accuracy of scheduling over the "hour-bucket" finite scheduling systems can immediately add five percent (5%) or greater improvement in throughput, without adding new equipment. When scheduling systems are not precise, lost time is typically created on the shop floor. Lost time can never be recovered. By fully loading all capacity on all machines, to within reasonable standards, you can be sure you are getting the maximum utilization out of your plant and equipment, based on your current backlog of demand.
