Screen Shot What is SmartBoard OCX?

SmartBoard is our "visual scheduling board" OCX component. The SmartBoard OCX component is now built into every level of our official JobTime5 product line. Our  SmartSched  basic engine has now been significantly upgraded and is also offered at the different levels of JobTime5, each supporting a progressively more power set of scheduling features.  Our SmartBoard technology gives you immediate visibility of operations scheduled across machine work centers.  SmartBoard fully supports drag and drop scheduling. If you move operations in SmartBoard, you can implement a customized interface, which will let you save your schedule changes automatically, uploading into the database used by your Host ERP/MRP database.  JobTime5's SmartBoard and SmartSched can interfaces seamlessly with your host system.  If your application is limited and you have no host system, you can also maintain all of your production work orders and schedules locally right inside JobTime5.  Now you can have affordable visual scheduling that meets the most demanding manufacturing production processes.

You can point and click on SmartBoard to see the current schedule.  Suppose one order must be delayed 4 hours because a truck with necessary materials has called in a late delivery.  Simply pick up the affected order with the mouse and move it. A picture is worth a thousand words, and SmartBoard is a picture of your shop plan.

Benefits of Using SmartBoard

SmartBoard improves scheduling in three important ways:

  • Promising Delivery: SmartBoard let's you visualize your machine loading to determine capacity available for "hot" or last-minute jobs. By moving orders you immediately see if a job becomes late if it is pushed into the future.
  • Managing Production: You can see work orders visually through the entire production cycle, and you can simultaneously see all other competing orders on the same machines). You can make minor "fine-tuning" adjustments such as switching the to-do sequence, without having to fully re-schedule.
  • What If Analysis: Shift your capacity (over-time or sub-contract) and see late jobs come in on-time. Reflect a machine breakdown and see the impact. Re-schedule maintenance to pick up short-term capacity. See it now, not later.

Seamless Integration

SmartBoard works seamlessly with Manufacturing MRP/ERP Systems.  One example is the TIW WorkShop system of Easton, Pennsylvania.   SmartBoard reflects the native schedules established by a finite scheduler in the host ERP/MRP system, or it can also display the accurate to-the-minute scheduling by our own SmartSched module. SmartBoard accesses current host system's schedule data files.

SmartBoard adds visual scheduling capability you have been waiting to see in your ERP/MRP System
